Robert D. Rinehart, 68, Louisburg, died May 20, 2009, at University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan.

He was born Feb. 20, 1941, in Humboldt, Kan., to Albert Lee and Mary Frances Williams Rinehart.

He married Lora Richardson on July 16, 1966, in Kansas City, Kan. They moved in September 1973 to Louisburg, where they raised their family.

He worked as a welder and retired from Bucyrus Equipment Co. in 2006.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially watching his grandsons participate in sporting events. His baby was his silver classic 1966 Plymouth Satellite car. He was a big fan of KU basketball. Jokes and laughter always filled his home.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Terri in October 1986, two brothers, Albert Rinehart and Richard Rinehart, and a sister, Betty Wilson.

Survivors include his wife, Lora Rinehart, of the home; daughters Mendy Durham of New Richmond, Wis., and Andra Taylor of Kansas City, Mo.; two grandsons; and a brother, Jim Rinehart of Wichita.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church, 406 S. Vine, Louisburg, KS. Burial will follow in Fort Scott National Cemetery.
