Editor’s note: The following is a poem written by Louisburg student Kievah LaHue about her mother in honor of Mother’s Day.

Your words and thoughts have touched my soul ...

When you’re in my heart, you make my life full of

Beauty and perfection too unique to describe,

I’m glad for the creation of our mother-daughter vibe.

Some say you watch every step I take and you even hover,

Well, I say you’re a guardian angel in the form of a mother!

When I look in your eyes, I see crazy and wild,

but behind that I see the tenderness of a child!

Some parents let their kids go alone to the movies or to the mall,

Even though you go with me, you’re the best of all!

Every day, I thank the Lord for the mother I got,

Even if I could choose, I would pick you out of the whole lot!

I will tell you something that is amazingly true,

And that true something is, thank you, I love you!
