It is do or die time for wrestlers across the state of Kansas. Wrestlers from Louisburg, Osawatomie, Paola and Prairie View will be in Spring Hill this afternoon and Saturday to compete in a Class 4A regional. On the line is a chance to wrestle in the Class 4A state tournament the following weekend in Salina. The top four wrestlers in each weight classification qualify for state. The regional should be a good matchup between the Osawatomie Trojans and the Prairie View Buffalos. Both squads are loaded. Prairie View sports a lineup featuring 10 wrestlers with 20 or more wins. Bo Newport (112), Quinton Ford (145) and Nathan Sommer (152) have more than 40 wins on the season. Newport is 40-8, Ford is 41-7 and Sommer is 41-2. Colton Kral (119), Bronson Moylan (135) and Ty Page (140) have all won 30 or more matches. Jace Roy (103), Tyler Brown (125), Devon Minckley (189) and John Hatfield (215) have won 20 or more matches this season. Osawatomie has a very competitive lineup as well. Eight Trojans have 20 or more victories. William Wilson (160) is 36-6. Zach Grimes (189) is 33-4. Westin Shay (125) has a record of 30-2. Dakota Hunke (140) is 30-6. Bodhi Wallace (103), Montana Dunn (130), Chance Sinclair (145) and Bryan Switzer (152) all have 20 or more wins. Austin Hood of Louisburg enters the tournament as a Frontier League champion at 103 pounds. He is 27-3 on the year. Bryce Hood is 29-2 at 135 pounds. His status for the regional is questionable due to a knee injury. Michael Kircher is 16-15, wrestling against some tough competition this season at 140 pounds. Teammate Tyler Ewy was runner-up in league at 285 pounds. Spring Hill placed nine wrestlers in the top four at league with four runners-up. Michael Nemer (103), Shane Slyter (140), Cody Spader (160) and Taylor Kettler placed second in the league tournament. Other Broncos placing in the top four at league were Shane Squire (112), Aaron Barnes (119), Austin Adkins (130), Charlie Briggs (135) and Austin Sander (152). Paola had seven wrestlers in the top four at league with two runner-up finishes. Dylan McKinney (119) and Mitch Mosley (135) placed second in league. Other top four placers for the Panthers were Tyler Henness (145), Tanner Rankin (152), Parker Staats (189) and Spencer Trumbly (215).
